Wobbi is a self-help diary and anxiety toolkit. It is built to work on your device without an account. This policy says exactly what is stored, what can leave your device, and what you can do about it. Last updated 16 October 2026.
Who we are
Wobbi is published by Wobbi. Questions or requests about your data: hello@wobbi.app.
The short version
- Your entries, journal, anchors, worries and settings live on your device by default.
- We do not run analytics, advertising, tracking or any third-party SDK that collects data about you. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
- Creating an account is optional. If you do, your entries sync to our database so they follow you between devices.
- AI features are off by default. If you turn them on, the text or audio you choose to send goes straight from your device to Google using your own API key.
- Health data: Apple Health sleep is read only if you turn it on, stays on your device and is never uploaded.
What is stored on your device
Everything you create in the app is saved on your device: mood entries, thoughts, emotions, tags, photos, voice memos, journal entries, daily anchors, worries, breathing and focus sessions, coins and settings. Deleting the app removes it. You can export your entries from More → Export data (photos and audio are not included in the export).
If you create an account (optional)
You can sign in with email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google. We then store:
- Your email address (and the name Apple or Google shares, if any) to identify your account.
- Your entries, photos and voice memos, and the items synced from the journal, anchors, small steps, hand-logged sleep, purchases, reminder settings and theme.
- Technical data the hosting provider needs to run the service (such as IP address in server logs).
Where account data is kept
Account data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, which acts as our processor. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access rules ensure each account can only read its own rows. We use it only to run the app for you: never for advertising, profiling or sale.
Apple Health (iPhone app)
- Writing: with your permission, breathing and grounding sessions are saved to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes.
- Reading: only if you turn it on, the app reads sleep analysis (for example from Apple Watch) to show your sleep next to your mood. It reads nothing else from Health.
- Health data is used only inside the app on your device to show it to you. It is not uploaded, not stored in iCloud by us, and never used for advertising or sold.
- You can withdraw access at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.
Website and waitlist
This applies to wobbi.app, not to the app. The site has no analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or third-party scripts that collect data about visitors. Fonts and images are served from the site itself.
If you join the waitlist we store what you type into the form: your email address, and optionally your name, which topics interest you, which phone you use and a short note. We use it only to tell you when Wobbi is available and to decide what to build first. You agree to that with the consent box before sending. The list is kept in our backend (Supabase) and is readable only by us; nobody who visits the site can read it. We do not sell it or share it for advertising, and we will not use it for anything unrelated to Wobbi.
To be removed from the waitlist, or to see or correct what we hold, email hello@wobbi.app from the address you signed up with and we will delete it.
AI helper (optional, off by default)
If you turn it on you add your own Google Gemini API key. The key stays on your device. When you tap an AI action (for example transcribe a voice memo or suggest reframes), only the text or audio for that action is sent from your device directly to Google. It does not pass through our servers.
Google handles it under its own terms. On Google’s free tier, Google may use what you send to improve its products and humans may review it, so do not send anything you would not want that to apply to. Text that looks like self-harm is never sent to an AI; the app shows support options instead.
Focus guard (iPhone, optional)
If you turn on the Focus guard you choose apps with Apple’s Screen Time picker. iOS gives Wobbi only anonymous tokens for what you chose: we cannot see which apps they are, how you use them, or your Screen Time data. The choice and unlock times are stored on your device only and never uploaded. You can switch the guard off at any time.
Purchases
Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple. We never see your payment details. We only learn, from Apple, whether your Wobbi Pro subscription is active and when it ends, so we can unlock the Pro features on your device.
Notifications
Reminders on the iPhone app are scheduled on your device and never leave it. On the web version, if you turn on push reminders, your browser’s push address is stored with your account so we can send them.
Camera, microphone and photos
Only used when you tap the matching button to attach a photo or record a voice memo. Media stays on your device unless you are signed in, in which case it syncs with your entry.
How long we keep data
On your device: until you delete it or the app. In your account: until you delete the account (More → Account → Delete account), which permanently removes your account, entries, photos and voice memos from our systems. Routine backups at our provider may take a short time to expire.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK GDPR or California law) you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to processing. Most of this you can do yourself in the app (edit, export, delete account). For anything else write to hello@wobbi.app. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
Wobbi is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Not medical care
Wobbi is a self-help tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you might be in danger, call your local emergency number.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
